Pittsburgh mayor calls in National Guard to do police work

Pittsburgh, USA – In clear violation of of Posse Comitatus the mayor of Pittsburgh Luke Ravenstahl called in the National guard to help in “domestic” disputes.
Not only were they called in to help because of the snow disaster but they will start patrolling the streets. The humvees rolled in yesterday after the mayor also told people on a live broadcast that “be advised that you will begin to see National Guard Humvees in some of your neighborhoods beginning this evening.”

I had heard that the national guard was called out before reading any of this.(knowing how they use the national guard...ahem KATRINA *COUGH COUGH*) Rest assured, my firearms are loaded and within split second grabbing distance.

Iran is going to do something, or we are going to do something to Iran?
The most disturbing thing about Iran is that many Christians have a false impression that if Iran and Russia attack Israel, God is going to miraculously deliver Israel. The problem is that the prophecy to which they are referring is talking about an event that is still at least 1000 years away (after the millenial kingdom), so all of this posturing and pressure on Iran may very well bring about an apocalypse on the people unfortunate to reside in Israel. This gets even more disturbing when one realizes there are prophesies that talk about Israel being completely uninhabited and desolate -- prophesies that have not yet really been fulfilled. Could this prophesy be fulfilled with a nuclear war?

The Hopi prophecies are pretty damn clear on this. Yellow and black (Asia and Africa/Med) START the war in retaliation for something.

How do the people not see this as compleatly rediculous? How many hundreds of years we've survived without national guard assistance during snow storms. WHY NOW?...well I know why but im sure many dont. ITs conditioning pure and simple.

So I'll put this out there the best that I can... I'm not feeling well and it's affecting my communication
As you know there was a huge snowstorm this past weekend and another on the way tonight. In Pittsburgh, the National Guard was called in to assist with "clearing the roads and emergency response".
The interesting part is that while I've seen a few humvees, not one of them was plowing or transporting anyone but soldiers. The news shows 300 humvees sitting in a school parking lot in the middle of the day.
NO neighborhood roads have seen a plow or salt since Friday. NONE. The highways have been cleared but no main streets throughout the city and neighborhoods. It's a freaking disaster zone. Citizens are furious that nothing is being done to clear the roads at all. The mayor's reason for the delay was that they needed to address a "public safety" issue first. That's all that was said.
Garbage and recycling removal has been delayed indefinitely and today they announced suspension of mail delivery.
The next storm has started as of the past hour or so. Forecasts predict anywhere from an additional 4" - 18". There is already 21"+ on the roads, sidewalks, etc. Ice is a major problem. The city of potholes now even has ICE potholes.
Still no plows or salt.
News just announced that the national guard is taking over ambulance and 911 response.
My father works for an electric company in the area. They were told to be sure that they have their ID badges and mace at all times because they "received a threat". They won't give further details. He doesn't know if it is a general threat to the area, the company, or the employees themselves. F*cking p*sses me off... my Dad and all those people are out there risking their lives so that people can have power, but no one will let them know what is going on so that they can protect themselves.
He does know that a group of people were found attempting to break into some of the power companies local offices.
Lots of people without power since Friday, and stores are getting cleared out. Most stores still have something, but many are sold out of supplies and transportation hasn't been able to bring more in.
Carnegie Mellon University, Public Schools, University of Pittsburgh, Point Park University, and many others have been closed for days. This hasn't happened in over 20 years. Interestingly enough, this ISN'T the biggest snowstorm in 20 years and they are closed specifically at the request of city government.
Somethings up - something more than a snowstorm. I hope not, but I think it is so.
So there's my report. I'd be glad to hear other ideas or any info you might have.

Ridiculous is being kind.
Chicago gets snow, every year. But now, it's like a regular snowstorm is a catastrophe! Yes, it's snowing here, but, believe me, I've seen much worse, in a shorter period of time.
O'Hare airport cancelled 500 flights, schools were closed, OMG the humanity!
I personally shoveled about three inches of snow off my side of the driveway by 1:00 pm, since my husband is down in Missouri. I just shoveled another 3-4" off tonight. Is this a winter stormwatch/blizzard that constitutes this kind of reaction?
There's no national guard, but I think their reaction to this has been very overblown. Just a pre-requisite to more.

No kidding. They don't really use that one here although they have scaled back on plowing.
The tactic used here in MI is that they are going to cut back police and fire if we don't vote to raise taxes. They've already cut way back on state police and cut city profit sharing so now cities are looking to cut more. I'm waiting for them to declare a state of emergency here because of the budget issues.
There? Im sure youve heard of PA's Budget woes....
Aren't all states having them? I haven't really checked into PA's specifically. I was more just saying I think the cut backs on our police force are what they are going to use to usher in the take over. Here they can't really use snow since the nastiest has gone south this year.
It will be interesting to see where this stuff with Pittsburgh goes. Will there be an outrage or not?

So it begins... the desensitization of the American people to the military as police. Precedents are being set almost daily that are going to have a profound impact on our society, but very few people are paying attention.
it was all doom and gloom here for awhile as to the weather. It snowed pretty good for about 2 hours...i think 6 or so flakes since. No troops yet thankfully.
I haven't heard of any troop deployments here, but the weathermen here did mention my little town specifically as being in the "bull's eye" for the snow storm. Then again, this will be the first significant snowfall in our area in a couple months.
But this is Michigan....
