OK so here's my Report on our group meeting with Wayne Paul (Ron's brother) and Peter Allison author of Dollar Noncents. We had about 35 people show which I was happy about since the big conference is today farther south. Last night was an informal gathering and it was wonderful! When Wayne first arrived with his wife Donna who was RP's nurse for 12 years after the amenities I asked Wayne my burning question, the one I've been pondering ever since he became our CPA. "OK Wayne what did you used to do to Ron when he was little when you picked on him?" Both Wayne and Donna started to hoot and said Ron's media reputation has really made him squeaky clean. Wayne said "I am the baby and in fact Ron was the one who picked on us most of the time" He says all 5 brothers get together for a week every year and they all usually pick on Ron just to keep things even. Of course this was said with a lot of fun energy. Wayne is much more of a spit fire than his brother. He has Parkinsons so his gait is weak but what a fire inside that belly! Wayne said that Ron is the "Liberal" of the family and he usually tells him that to rile him up. We had a guy from the republican party that was there that said when Q and A time came around " I'm no Ron Pauler, I'm here from the republican party and I just want to say you guys need to stop this 'us vs them' attitude and we all need to work together. Wayne's response to him was I don't agree with Ron Paul on everything either and you're right we need to put our minute differences aside and work together!
My favorite part was at the closing of our meeting Donna stood up and said I want you all to know that there really has never been a humbler man I've known than Ron Paul and I can tell you honestly from the bottom of my heart Thank you from Ron. For every dollar that you spent, every time you waved signs and took time from your families to give to his campaign. He really does know that you have sacrificed and he is truly grateful to each and every one of you" Needless to say I cried because it sounded so beautiful when I heard it and I really felt like Ron was saying those words through her.
Wayne spoke briefly of his eyewitness testimony on the Nevada case where they were using coinage to pay contractors and sub contractors. He said before he left to testify RP told him "Be very very careful Wayne because they can not allow them to win" Wayne said that scared him more than anything since Ron is not one to say things like that" He did fine though and he said he feels like they had a lot of little miracles that got them through it but he didn't go into any details.
Good report! I love to hear that the Doc was a pest of an older brother. That makes me smile, like I've got a secret. :)
Peter Allison:
I was impressed with Peter and he was a very good presenter. His book was written 15 years ago and he briefly discussed how all the pertinent info in his book was taken directly from congressional records or from the Fed's material itself. I do see why his book never became uber popular even later is due to his very Christian orientation on all the reasons and whys The fed is bad. That limits you audience, although maybe now that more Christians are listening they'll buy his book. His website is

Most of what he talked about we already know but the one thing thast sparked my interest in a very big way was something he's implemented in Texas. He and a group of people have formed a council/coalition that vets candidates for his local area. He said they take 15 to 20 minutes with each candidate and ask them questions and film it. Then they put out a pamphlet on the council's recommendations and why. He said 4 years ago the amount of people they had come to them to get vetted were few and most people blew it off, NOW they are beating down the door! We already have a beginning trickle of this in our county with our local group I believe this is MY nonpartisan answer to politics. When you really think about it who is out there recommending what and who to vote for besides the parties. Most of the reason why people don't vote is because they don't know who or what they're voting for. I'm actually excited about this!
Good thought. If I may make a request: vet the judges! I cannot emphasize this enough -- it is essential. There is certainly no way to know which judges to vote for in local elections unless you have personal experience with one of them. Of all local elections, this is one that I think needs serious attention because it is the starting point, the foundation, of our entire judicial system.
But all vetting is important. We need to be informed voters if we are to hope to elect good people to office.
Very cool story about Wayne too! Thanks for sharing.
You couldn't be more right Khomar
Just last week our county clerk of court was busted by the DEA for stealing drugs (coke and meth) out of the evidence room and selling it to someone in Florida. He's been under investigation since April last year and who knows what all he's done and what all is missing as evidence. He was a sitting judge before being elected to clerk of court.
