Something fishy about the DP

vallo verum's picture

I have given up there, the "Christians" with no use for truth or any ability to forgive (as in do not pass judgment upon in the first place) women who choose abortions are more than I can handle, That said, I went and gave my final report on the last Central Committee meeting. Well, I thought I was done, but things kept developing. I went to update it, I felt some people there might be interested in what was going on on the ground here in Idaho. My post is gone. Maybe I am internet doofus and can't find it, it has happened before. That search function has never worked well, in my opinion. But I think it is gone, I can't find it by searching the date either.
Here in Idaho, the "Ron Paul" folks are sold out, totally, Sorry, but power corrupts... news flash? I will post the whole thing here for you folks, as there seems to be a core of truth-lovers here. But part of the truth you all need to appreciate is that this first part seems to have been taken off the DP...

The build up to this Central Committee meeting began when I read about
Blake Hall's resignation. I immediately knew who the RIGHT man for
that job was, and asked if he would accept the nomination. He thought
it over, said he would. Then a week to so ago, the seat became a
political football and my hoped for opportunity to do a very good
thing for the Idaho Republican Party was bribed, negotiated, coerced,
cajoled and / or threatened away before the meeting was even started.
The Central Committee will dutifully choose between the appointed one
or the anointed one, who they were told or who they were sold. I am
sorry, I do not know which one "won." I know who lost, all of us.
Cornel Rasor was never even nominated.

Mark and I arrived, registered, and bumped into the Hatfields who told
us that most of the good resolutions HAD survived Committee. Good
start... Again, I sdon't know the outcome. I DO know that the Sound
Currency PLATFORM PLANK has been utterly ignored for nearly 2 solid
years now, and we were still passing resolutions about it... or TRYING
to pass them.

We went to listen in on the end of the Chairmen's meeting. A man rose
and stated his concern about the Tea Party type movement. The people
in the room were assured that the Tea Party groups up north are all
firmly in the control of Republicans, although Brad Little did express
some dismay about the "fringe militia types" and allowed as how he was
not sure how to keep them out. Norm Semanko stepped up to the podium,
but not the plate. Here was the golden opportunity to embrace the "Tea
Party type group" that was already IN the room - the RON PAUL
REPUBLICANS. He did not. He joined in the chorus congratulating
themselves on how they already won. I stood in the back of the room
waving bye-bye at Norm, he failed to notice. As Brad Little left the
room, I blocked his exit. I told him the fringe militia types are
second amendment people, and if we welcome them we grow the party. He
gave me a dirty look and shuffled out.

I wandered into Region meeting. A gentlemen wanted to bring a
resolution saying we were all going to support Otter because times are
tough and he tries really hard. My head exploded... I held up my
hand... I got called on... and I laid a little truth on the table. OK,
a lot of truth on the table. I am not even sure what I said, but I
remember saying something about there is no "left or right, there is
only the right foot stepping toward fascism, then the left foot
stepping toward fascism" and that I think I got something in about if
Butch would have moved on the Sound Currency he could have avoided the
hard times... I got scolded by the Chair for my lack of civility. I
told him I did not care if he or anyone else liked my passion, and
that the nation is on the brink and I am passionate. Note the lack of
quotations... I won't pretend that "the Spirit spoke through me" but I
did my level best to speak truth, and I spoke from the heart.

I did sit through some good discussion and some more "party line"
bullshit. I finally raised my hand again, when someone pointed out
that we needed to "not compromise." I wanted to agree. I wanted to
point out we need to be DAMN CAREFUL what we decide are the things we
will not compromise upon, and suggest the Bill of Rights as a place to
start. I sat with my hand up through one person. Then another. Then
another. Then another. Then Barry called for a motion to adjourn and I
told him that was crap, and that I was done.

I left the room, then remembered I had a purse full of Smedley Butler
fliers still, and decided to lighten my load. I went back in, passed
out as many as I could. As I distributed them, I ranted / suggested
they try standing for the things Jesus would approve of, instead of
"support the troops" how about we support peace? Truth? Honesty?
Integrity? I pointed out that the Ron Paul people TRIED to show up and
help save this Republic, and that we were LEAVING the Republicans, and
they might want to address that. Again, it was not a planned script,
not a planned ass-ripping, but once there I did my best to speak
truth, take right action. Are my actions right for anyone else?
Probalby not. But I am me, and I do what I do, and I have to assume I
am what I am for a reason and that apparently, the Universe believed
some folks needed an ass ripping today.

I made a pass through the restaurant area, and invited a few diners to
taste a bit of truth as I continued passing out Smedley fliers. I
personally challenged Leanne Callear, DARED her to learn the truth,
and pretty much forced her to take a flier. Of course, I cannot make
her read it, or go type in the link at the bottom to finish the story.
If you know her, I encourage you to encourage her to study up on
Smedley.

Norm got the last anal enlargement. "What did I do to you?" he asked
as I growled by.

Nothing. Not a thing. Nothing to me, nothing for me, nothing to bring
Ron Paul's ideals into play, nothing to make things better. Not a damn
thing. He got a Smedley flier, for all the good it will do.

And then I came home and resigned. I invited Norm and John to join me
at the Neurolux in Boise at 9:00 PM on January 22, and I invite you,
too. This is the band that will be playing:

I would be astounded to see Norm there, but I really, really hope to
see some of you there.

If you are curious, what I was passing out was a one page "teaser" of
the information at this link, and the link.

Below, I have added my resignation letter, and the rough notes for the
nomination speech I did not get to make.

Well then, back to the chickens.

I have no desire to continue tuning fiddles while Rome burns. While
you all play "civil" politics, your party, your state, and your nation
crumble. Sadly, I think you two KNOW that. I think one of you is
desperately trying to stop it and still play the game, and that is not
going to work. The other one of you I think is trying to play the game
and look like you are helping while actually doing all you can to keep
the status quo propped up. I think there are criminals at the top our
"our" party and if we support them, we are accomplices.
Correction, YOUR party, YOU are accomplices. I am done. I will be out
with the folks who are not afraid to say things like "TRUTH" and even
more amazing, they will say things that ARE the truth, whether they
are pleasant on the ears or not.
I resign, effective immediately. While you all pat yourselves on the
back for already having won over the Tea Party, (aka counting chickens
before they hatched) the people who tried to join your party are
leaving. See? Here goes another one.
If you would like to chat, come down to the Neurolux on January 22 at
9:00 PM to hear this band:

Bye bye!

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I know you likely came here with a pre-selected candidate for the
Republican National Committeman's seat. I suspect after I make my
nomination, you will likely go ahead and vote for your appointed or
annointed or the one who scratched your back the best. So be it. I am
on my way out the door anyway, you will be free to keep doing what you
have always done, and I expect you will keep getting what you have
always gotten - politicians running things.
I came to this party, with a sizable like minded contingent, eager to
restore our nation, our Republic. I was of the mind that the
Republican party ought to be the guardians of the Republic. I did not
come hear meek and humble, I came here full of spit and vinegar and
ready to wrestle rino's. I was courted and sparked for votes to throw
one politician out in favor of another, and I fell for it a time or
two. Score one for the rinos. When it came time to defend the
Republic, I generally found myself with few allies. To this day, many
in this room are afraid to say "Ron Paul" even though they voted for
him. Come on, the tally spoke for itself. And you ought to be proud,
you did the right thing. Imagine the state of our nation today if Ron
Paul had been elected president... You could still do the right thing,
and embrace the Constitution, and admit that you need to grow this
party, that you need Ron Paul Republicans and some Libertarians and
some Independents and some Constitutionalists...
There is one man who has done the right thing since day one. He has
tried to take input from both sides, made himself available to anyone
who wanted his ear, and conducted the business of his county in front
of anyone who wanted to observe. He welcomed us all here and was a
most gracious host at that rather tense State Convention, and he has
continued to seek to unite the people in this party at every
opportunity. Many seek to simply be rid of people like me - pick your
reason. I lean heavily toward liberty, I am not a Christian, I want
the government out of all of my healthcare including my reproductive
healthcare oh YES I did just say that in a room full of Republicans.
So clearly, a nomination from me is a dubious honor in this company.
But consider this, if you really want this party to grow, perhaps you
should listen to the man who found a way to put differences
aside and work with anyone willing to step up - even me. Perhaps that
is the type of voice that could bring people INTO the party rather
than run people out. Perhaps a voice like that is the best voice to
send to National.
I offer you people my best advice for getting the Republican party
back to the VITALLY important task of restoring our Republic.
I nominate Cornel Rasor.

On Abortion

One last comment on the abortion issue: I fully agree with your frustration about the lack of forgiveness. I want to make something clear: I do not harbor resentment toward the woman who have chosen to have an abortion -- even the ones who do not now regret it. If there is any resentment, it is towards the abortion activists and doctors who willfully hide the truth from women who come into their offices, who do not offer them the choices available, who do not educate them on what the procedure will actually do. Whether or not we should ban all abortions in this country, we should strive to educate and allow the women to make an informed decision with all of the options clearly presented and available. This is the only way that they can truly have a choice.

As for my personal beliefs, I am pro-life. This means that not only do I want to save the lives of the unborn, I want to save the lives of the living from unlawful wars, slavery, abuse, torture, euthanasia, and all other forms of demeaning activities that seek to minimize or destroy those who have been created in the image of God.

On Compromise

In 1988, I wanted to vote for Russell Means for President, and ended up voting for Ron Paul.
In 2008, I wanted to vote for Ron Paul for President, and ended up voting for Chuck Baldwin.

See? Even a stiff-necked extremist like your Professor can compromise -- a little.

On abortion, except for the "image of God" part, it appears that Khomrade Khomar and Brother Bernardo are on the same page.

We can all meet at truth, works every time

I agree they ought to stop lying to women about abortions, and about the value of motherhood, and about a lot of things. Well, everything. I am from a health care background, and I am a big advocate of INFORMED CONSENT, which rarely happens in this country.

Now the update

I won't post the whole thing unless someone shows an interest, but I will clip the email parts that are pertinent.

A general email, from the COunty Chair of MY county, a "Ron Paul" guy:
John Blattler

Hi All,

Here is a message from Jonathan Parker regarding the recent State Meeting. Resolution 9 (Sound Currency) was initially defeated in committee (7 - 6) but made it to the floor by way of a Minority Report. It then passed 64 - 56 in a roll call vote.

Watkins won the National Committeeman position as both Rod Beck and Cornell Rasor withdrew from consideration because of financial and time commitments to the position. There are 4 trips a year and they both felt this would interfere with their personal lives. At no time was there any pressure on them to withdraw, it was a personal decision and I did verify this with both of them in conversation.

Claire,
I told John what I told you - both the favors being offered which I walked out on and my reflection about the cost and time expectations of the office. I guess he simply chose to print only one of the reasons and that is certainly his prerogative. I was not pressured to step down but when the group started down the political favors path I simply spoke up and left the room. I know now I probably should have stayed and put the question to them. I learned much this week.

Ah, well. Maybe John is not the man I thought he was.
Either way, it seems the GOP is all about half truths and back room
deals, and I am about truth. I do not know what it is you think you
are building upon a foundation of dirty deals and personal favors all
papered over with pretty lies, but it will crumble.
You know if ANY of you are ever curious about anyting. just ask. I
don't claim to have all the answers, but I have some pretty
interesting history lessons. Not opinions, documented history.
And Marla, if you are ever curious what Mark and I DID find when we
went to Vieques, you can ask, too. Oh, I just have to let you know
because I know you won't ask. We found people who told us to litter
because their friends had good government jobs picking up the litter.
I truly wish you all the best, but TRUTH is the best. Really, it is.
Claire

END MESSAGES.

This AM, I did email John and request he clarify or apologize as publicly as he accused. I expect no reply.

Thanks again for being a little corner where I can speak my mind.

Sorry, one last email to add - the important one!

Cornel Rasor
to me

show details Jan 8 (5 days ago)

Claire,
How do I say this? I just sat through 4 hours of meetings ostensibly to determine what the party wants to do about the 3 running for committeeman. I won't bore you with details but after the talk stopped skirting the real issues (unknown to me) and settled on money and favors for the loser I sealed my fate at least at the state level. I stood up, told the room off and alluded to Chicago style deals and walked out. I cannot be a part of this type of stuff and I am asking for your permission to bow out. I am still shaking as I type this. I guess I'm still an idealist at heart and I hoped the party was better than this. I will stay involved just to try to steer as much as I can back towards truth but most of the stuff done tonight is something I want no part of. I'm not afraid of the repercussions but this office is so much a part of the compromised machinery that I'm not even sure I can do it. The time and money are something I was unaware of as well but the rigging and deals are just not something I want to be involved with. If you are ok with me not participating I will let them know tomorrow. By the way, Rod Beck was not a part of the dealmaking. At this point I do not want to make an issue of this but I will be ruminating on how to proceed.

Thanks for the update, and well done in standing up for what is right. It is going to take a major transformation in the hearts and minds of people in this country to turn things around at this point, and I fear that there are far too few willing to make the sacrifices necessary to see it done. Quite honestly, there are times when I wonder if I am willing to make them all.

Keep up the good work. It is a shame that we are all geographically dispersed like we are, but I will continue to pray for you all.

The spin is on

County Chairman insists he did not lie about anything, will not apologize to me. You see the correspondence, did he lie?
Again, these are the "good guys." I am sick at heart for the "liberty movement." Palin on Fox and her "rogue" nonsense, Beck "winning over" folks at the DP, and old Lou Dobbs out there somewhere plotting something. I am telling you, Ron Paul will be given the "under the bus" treatment or pushed back into media oblivion or worse before he is made president. What is going on here is not good, not good at all.

-

Khomar's picture

Indeed. It disgusts me, but sadly, it is not really that surprising to me anymore. The fact is that people don't want to hear what is really happening. Until people hunger for truth, there will be no turn around in our nation.
