I have tried to keep a hands-off approach to the site since the beginning, but in the past few days I have seen several comments that indicate our current mode is causing unnecessary hard feelings. I would like to open a discussion to get everyone's thoughts on how we should move forward with this site. While I want to have an open and welcome site, we need to remember to respect our other members.
Here are a couple things I would like to stress:
1) There should be no nudity on the site. This includes avatar pictures. These are not just my rules but the rules of my hosting company. Should I violate these rules, it could threaten the existence of the site. I would also like to add that I would appreciate consideration for other people when using an avatar that could be offensive. Remember that some of us are trying to invite friends and family to visit the site, and offensive images may turn away the very people we are trying to bring in.
2) From this point on, I am asking moderators to refrain from changing anyone's account without their express permission. While I know this has been done in the past for fun and with enjoyment by many, the practice has gotten out of hand of late. Some have expressed real concern over this practice. As I do not have good control over this feature, we all need to refrain from this or I will be forced to remove moderator status from everyone and add it on a more selective basis.
I also wanted to take some time to explain how our current list of moderators came to be. When we turned on the new site, I wanted as many people as possible to be able to create new content and bring over information from the old Liberty Love site. So, the first people who came over were automatically given moderator permissions. If you do not currently have moderator permissions, it is not because I have anything against you but that I wanted to keep the list somewhat small. Here is the list of current moderators:

Attention Moderators
I moved this thread into public view as I think it is important for people to know who the moderators are and what their guidelines are. I also amended the rules with some thoughts on handling the banning of users. It should be noted that with the exception of spam-bots, we have not permanently banned any user from this site. I would prefer that it could stay that way, but we will see. Let me know your thoughts.
I also want to add something here real quick -- this has nothing to do with any current events on this site. No one is (to my knowledge at least) on the verge of being banned. This is in response to recent activities on Daily Paul, and my desire to avoid the kinds of problems that we have witnessed there.
It is my belief that there are forces actively at work in the movement to try to undermine and divide us -- especially as the battle grows hotter around the Federal Reserve. We need to cling all the more strongly to the principles of integrity, justice, and yes, mercy and grace to remain, as much as we can, above reproach and to promote truth and transparency. Evil men hate the light of truth because it exposes their lies.
Let us not give them more ammunition with which to divide or undermine our efforts.
Just a reminder of the moderator guidelines. I made a little edit to include all account details.
Moderators, if you find a post that you believe needs to be edited, please send an e-mail to me and to the post's author to inform them of the change and the reasons why. This is for your own protection (so you have a witness in me) as well as a way to avoid confusion and keep me in the loop. We all want this place to remain a fun place to share ideas and let off some steam, and this will help to protect the community we have here.
The only exception to this is Prof on his songbook thread as it is clearly posted that he intends to edit and clean up the thread at will.

My cat gave me the same look after she peed in the heating vent -- which, by the way, is very difficult to clean, and the smell lingers for days.
My Kat gives me the same look when she pees in MY heating vent but then it's usually 'cause she's liquored up and doing her Stevie Nicks thing.
Khomar, you may want to try this stuff called Pet Enzyme, it should be available at your local pet store.
I used it when I was house breaking my dogs and it neutralized the ammonia smell almost instantly.
